Two days by my count to the exams...

The first exams since the 'A' levels in 2000. Wow. Has it really been so long?

One of the many things I appreciate about where I live (in a little corner of Singapore's East Coast) is that I'm constantly reminded of the wonders of Nature. Today I witnessed the advent of rain, as if the dark clouds were forming slowly for my sake. Like a ten-year-old I ran to my mother and said, "Look! It's raining just across the field but not here!"

You know, one day I'm going to miss the two trees outside my window. They've were planted when I was about five years of age, and I still remember them requiring constant support and fertiliser. Today, the trees are threatening to reach the third floor of our HDB flat and yet they're still tiny tots compared to the aged trunks around the estate.

One day I'm going to have to move out of this place, get my own place elsewhere and find new places to stay rooted to. I don't know where I'll be going, but I doubt I'll be moving far away from here. I miss this place, the sea breeze, the greenery, the marketplace and the hawker centre way too much. And the memories. Every single one of them.

Yes, I'm slacking and trying to get away from the fact that I need to study. What gave it away?
